**INSTALLATION

Note that ODV5.0 or higher must be installed on your computer before
you can install optional packages (see readmeWIN32.txt for
instructions on how to install ODV).

To install any of the available optional packages on a Windows 9x,
Windows NT or Windows 2000 system perform the following steps:

(a) Download (using binary ftp) or copy the .zip file of the package
    (e.g., "odvOP_coastGlobHR_w32.zip", "odvOP_eWOCE_w32.zip", etc.)
    and the file "pkunzip.exe" from the optional package distribution
    directory to an empty directory on your system (temp-directory);

(b) Unzip the optional package file, for instance, by using "pkunzip
    xxxx.zip" (xxxx represents the respective package
    name). Alternatively, you can open "xxxx.zip" with WinZip and
    simply press the "Install" button to start the installation
    procedure. In this case you can skip steps (c) and (d).

(c) Start the setup procedure by double-clicking on "setup.exe" and
    follow the instructions. Use the "Custom" install option if you
    want to install only some of the components included in the
    package.

(d) Delete all the files from the temp-directory after successful
    installation.

**UNINSTALL

To uninstall an optional package, invoke the Control Panel
(Systemsteuerung) by selecting Settings->Control Panel
(Einstellungen->Systemsteuerung) from the Windows Start
menu. Double-click on Add/Remove Programs (Software), select "Ocean
Data View - Coast", "Ocean Data View - eWOCE", etc. and press the
Remove (Hinzufuegen/Entfernen) button. Note that this process only
removes files installed during setup. Files added later by the user
are not uninstalled automatically and must be removed manually.

For further information on ODV and how to use it see readmeWIN32.txt
and the ODV help file that can be invoked via ODV's Help Topic option.
